30 Years and Growing!
For three decades, North Union Farmers Market has been championing local food, supporting small farms, and fostering vibrant communities across Northeast Ohio. We connect certified local producers with consumers through a network of producer-only farmers markets, ensuring that every product sold is grown, raised, or made by the vendor.
Why We Do It
We believe that local food is better for our health, our environment, and our economy. That’s why we operate authentic farmers markets and community programs that:
✔ Bring fresh, locally grown food to the community—helping families eat healthier, seasonal produce at its peak flavor.
✔ Support small farms and food businesses—allowing farmers and makers to sell directly to customers and grow their businesses.
✔ Create vibrant public spaces—where neighbors connect, local musicians perform, and small businesses thrive.
✔ Expand food access for all—ensuring that fresh, local food is affordable through programs like SNAP, Produce Perks, WIC, and Senior Farmers Market Coupons.
Our Impact
In 2024, North Union Farmers Market proudly:
🌱 Incubated over 350 small businesses—including 100 farmers, 70 artisans, 45 nonprofits, and 130 food purveyors.
🚜 Supported 10,000+ acres of Ohio farmland—helping local farms stay sustainable and thrive.
🍎 Distributed over $120,000 in food assistance programs—ensuring fresh, healthy food is accessible to all.
🎶 Booked 48 local musicians—bringing live music and culture to our markets.
Beyond the Market: Food Education & Community Programs
We don’t just connect farmers with customers—we also provide education and resources to help build a healthier, more sustainable local food system. Our programs include:
🍽️ The Frittata Project – Teaching families how to cook healthy, budget-friendly meals using local ingredients.
👩🍳 Chef at the Market – Bringing local chefs to the market for live cooking demos and recipe inspiration.
🌱 Mighty Locavores – An interactive food education program for kindergarten through second grade, fostering lifelong healthy eating habits.
